Client: Cancer Treatment Centers of America

Objective: To win state approval for CTCA to build a cancer-treatment hospital in Georgia.

In its first attempt, CTCA tried to win approval from the General Assembly to build a cancer hospital in Georgia and failed. In its second attempt, CTCA hired Dickerson Communications. We strengthened their messages and argued that patients and families had the right to choose their cancer-care providers - a choice that shouldn't be taken away by legislators.

Lobbyists communicated messages of choice, advanced treatment and economic development to legislators; Dickerson Communications put on a full-court press with press and public.

Despite massive opposition from major hospital groups, our efforts won legislative approval. CTCA is currently building a hospital a short distance from Atlanta's major airport that will serve cancer patients throughout the Southeastern United States.
