Client: Grady Health System

Objective: To win private-sector funding for Grady Memorial Hospital by changing its board governance from political appointees to a self-perpetuating 501 (c) 3.

Dickerson worked with members of the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority and the business community to position the board to allow for a new governing structure that would attract new funding and business support. Dickerson helped overcome massive public skepticism and distrust of private governance of a public hospital that led to the board approving a new structure. As a result of the change, Grady Memorial Hospital has received more than $300 million in new private-sector, capital funding.
